Recurring Payments (Automated Payments)
Recurring payments is one of the outstanding features available on Pesapal Mobile. Users are able to schedule their recurring bill payments using their saved cards.
Once a user has set a recurring payment, they will get a payment notification a day earlier before the due date for the transaction to be processed. Users have the ability to set recurring schedules under the following options:- daily, weekly, monthly.
Transactions Display
Pesapal Mobile provides visibility for payments by giving users the ability to view the transactions they have made from the platform. Users can view transactions, different payment methods, together with different amounts, service name, transaction date etc. This function is available by clicking the 'Activity' tab once a customer has opened their app.
Managing Payment Methods
Within the app, customers are able to add or remove a payment method. This includes options to remove or add cards, MTN or M-PESA payment method.
The app allows limit of only 3 cards at any given time. If a customer wants to add additional card, they are expected to delete any of the existing saved cards for it to work. If a user is adding MTN or M-PESA as the payment method, they will be sked to enter an OTP send to that number being added on the app before the number is saved on the app. This is meant to prevent fraudsters from adding any random/invalid number on the app.
Managing Profile Details
Pesapal Mobile gives users the ability to update their profile details like the first and last name. At the moment, there are no options for users to update additional details like their Email Address & Phone Number. In case a user wants to update their email address, you are asked to get their email address change request and
share with the tech team.
Additional Security Options
Pesapal Mobile provides its users with the ability to add additional layers of security options when making a purchase. Users can enable both finger print & biometric verification options when making a payment. During checkout, if a user has enforced any of the biometric options, they will be asked to authenticate themselves before the payment process starts.
Changing customer PIN
To change their PIN, users have the option to click 'forgot password' on the app where they will be taken through the process of PIN reset. Once they have received the OTP after clicking 'forgot password', they will be asked to set a new PIN for their account.
Resolving Transaction Issues
To resolve transaction issues on Pesapal Mobile, all admins have access to Pesapal Mobile Admin (PPM) dashboard where they can search for a transaction and either "Repost"/"Switch" or Reverse. The dashboard includes all transactions coming from the app with different payment methods for cards, M-PESA, Pesapal Credit, Openfloat Wallet etc. From the dashboard, one is able to resolve a transaction based on these options. In case a transaction has issues and it can't resubmit or post, notify the tech team for further assistance.
Resending OTP to customers
This option is ideal in case a user complains they didn’t get the OTP on SMS which is normally sent to them when registering on the app.
To resend the customer OTP ,login to Pesapal Mobile Admin (PPM) dashboard and navigate to user's section by searching using their mobile number.
Once a record is found, the dashboard will give options like 'Resend OTP' which you can click to resend the OTP to the customer.
